Picture Your Perfect Life!

Are you clear about what you want? I mean REALLY clear? You see, when you’re stuck and working to create a new and amazing life for yourself, you need to envision exactly what you want in that new life.

picture-your-perfect-lifeOnce you’ve set your intentions on a goal, it’s really important to write down affirmations surrounding that intention in present tense . . . as if it is already happening! These affirmations provide a complete and thorough description of the new reality you are creating.

And here’s a tip: the language we use is SO important! State your affirmations in the present tense, as if they are already happening! This helps you to begin to resonate with the future you are trying to achieve. Your vibration, from a Law of Attraction perspective, is essential to creating your perfect life.

If you don’t like to use the present-tense “I am” style of affirmations, here’s a tip. Word your affirmation like this: “Thank you for bringing me xyz …” With this wording, the phrase “bringing me” can be past, future, or present tense (making the affirmation more believable to your ego-mind).

Here’s a guideline for five potential categories of affirmations:

First, create affirmations that answer the question, “What do I want?” And BE SPECIFIC! I am making $10,000 a month. I am in a fulfilling, loving relationship. I am 120 pounds.

The next question to answer is, “What will life be like once I have achieved this?” How will a $10,000 a month salary change your life? Your daily routine? The places you go or the things you buy? Will you donate to charity? Whatever it is, visualize yourself living that life. Be in those moments. Act as if.

Third, “Why am I going through this extra effort?” Know your why. Think about what is motivating you to action. Maybe you want to make your family proud or be able to run a marathon. Maybe you want to send the kids off to an Ivy League University. Maybe you just want to secure your retirement or fulfill a passion. When you come across challenges, this affirmation especially will give you the fuel to keep going and reach your goals.

Fourth, “How am I going to achieve this?” This is your action affirmation. After all, the universe is not going to simply dump this new life into your lap. You have to get out and be at the right place at the right time so those golden opportunities can actually happen. You have to begin to take steps toward the life you want. What will those steps be?

Last, “What kind of person do I need to be, and what kinds of thoughts will I need to think?” This is a great place to contemplate how other successful people think. If you want to be 120 pounds, focus on the relationship that thin people have with exercise and food. If you want a fabulous relationship, what changes do you need to make in your beingness and your thoughts to attract that type of person?

In no time at all, you’ll begin to see how your thoughts and actions change to enter alignment with the new reality you are creating. Even better, the Universe will be attracted to your new level of vibration and you’ll begin to experience all types of golden opportunities!



Write at least one affirmation for each of the five questions below:

  1. What do I want?
  2. What will life be like when I achieve this?
  3. Why am I going through all of this extra effort?
  4. How am I going to achieve this?
  5. What kind of person do I need to be to achieve the success I want?
