15 Aug When Faced With a Conundrum
– Are you asking the wrong question, as you try to find the right answer? –
You’re feeling frustrated, confused, and maybe even defeated at the situation you’re in. It presents a conundrum of indecision, and you end up feeling stuck and wondering how you can possibly break free of the quagmire.
You find yourself asking, “Maybe I should walk away from this?”
Kendra Scott is a property manager who was facing such a conundrum. The owners of a building she managed had conflicting ideas that put her into a predicament. They were so diametrically opposed from what she believed in at a very basic level, that she felt there was no choice but to walk away from her most lucrative account.
Whenever we face these painful situations, especially where a moral dilemma is concerned, we sometimes hold ourselves back as we try and process what’s happening. We think we’re stuck in indecision because of the situation. But the truth is, it isn’t the situation at all. It’s our energy that’s become stuck because of the trigger from negative emotions about the situation.
We’re seeing a difference in what we DO want, and what we DON’T want. Maybe we haven’t truly identified what we DO want, and so, by default, we’re left looking head-on at what we DON’T want.
This is where confusion can set in, and left unhandled, confusion can turn to debilitating indecision. As that negative emotion tightens its grip around our throat, we begin to ask ourselves “Should I just walk away?”
That’s the wrong question!
This is an opportunity to understand that the obstacle is there to help us expand. It’s an opportunity for clarity. It’s an opportunity to get the energy moving a new direction, with a better foundation.
This is what Kendra came to discover, and it’s a discovery that might help you, too. We’re here for one purpose on this planet, and that’s to expand into who we really are as a strong, creative, whole person. So when faced with a conundrum, an empowering question would be: “How can I step up to a new level of opportunity?”
